Operations Services Specialist I/II

Position Summary:
The Operations Services Specialist is responsible for supporting back-office operations by processing financial transactions, maintaining account records, and researching member or client inquiries. This role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process daily incoming and outgoing mail, including handling post office runs as needed
  • Manage and maintain accounts, including deposits, account updates, and new account setup
  • Process transactions related to savings, checking, certificates, IRAs, and other account types
  • Handle account maintenance for special cases such as dormant, inactive, or deceased accounts
  • Scan and maintain documents in accordance with record retention policies
  • Research and resolve account discrepancies, transaction issues, and general inquiries
  • Process wire transfers, account verifications, and loan-related corrections
  • Handle legal and regulatory requests, including levies and subpoenas, within required timelines
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate and timely processing
  • Provide support via phone or written communication when needed

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1+ year of experience in banking, credit union, financial services, or a related environment
  • Experience with account maintenance, deposits, and financial transaction processing preferred
  • Familiarity with IRAs, trusts, wire transfers, or similar financial products is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and accuracy
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced, detail-oriented operational setting
  • Temporary assignment (3-6 months) with potential for extension based on business needs
